Parker becomes Governor of Louisiana. One of the earliest reforestation efforts in U.S. started near Bogalusa in 1920. Since then, Crown Zellerbach Corp. and its predecessors have planted 161,731 acres in creating the largest man-made forest on the North American continent. Andrew McShane, a hide merchant pulls a surprise upset of long time mayor Martin Behrman to become New Orleans new mayor. He takes office on December 6, 1920. Reformer McShane chooses as his police chief Guy Ross Molony who has served honorably in World War I after training in Latin American revolutions. He is highly praised for his administration during McShane÷s tenure, but Martin Behrman, the next mayor replaces him. He returns to Honduras and pursues a career as a brewery manager. in 1933 he helps quell another Honduran insurrection. He established a rice mill as well as the rice industry in Honduras He went into retirement in New Orleans in 1962 and died there ten years later.
