John Hunter Johnson

Born in the Natchez District of Spanish West Florida.
1799
Moves to New Feliciana with family.
1802-1804
Establishes a trading post with his brother Joseph Eugenius Johnson
1798
Marries Thenia Munson.
1807
Develops La Villa de San Francisco (St. Francisville) under Spanish charter.
1810
Leader of West Florida rebellion. He is a representative at the West Florica Convention from Feliciana but resigns after the capital is moved from St. Francisville to Baton Rouge.
1811-1815
Elected to the first police jury of the parish of Feliciana.
1814
Appointed sheriff of the 7th Superior Court at St. Francisville.
1813-1816
Member of the State Senate
1817
Elected parish judge.
1819
Dies enroute to Attakapas.
