Born, youngest son of Charles Le Moyne de Longueuil and Catherine Tierry (Primot)

Goes to France at age 15 with his brothers.
1699
February 22
Named a midshipman (garde-marine) at Rochefort, France.
1700
Chateaugue accompanies his brother Iberville on his first voyage to Louisiana and will remain in the colony for 27 years.
1703
Feb. 1
He had been commissioned an ensign and is named captain when he goes briefly to France 1703 to raise a regiment.
1704
After a brief period of neglect when Britain declares war on France the colony is resupplied by Chateaugue on orders from Iberville who is needed by the Fench Navy. Chateaugue returns on the Pelican.
1705
December 24
He makes frequent trips to Veracruz to get supplies and is given command of La Precieuse which sinks in a storm.
1706
Accused of financial dishonesty along with his brother Bienville, Chateaugue is investigated by ordonnateur Martin Diron d'Artaguiette. He is exonerated and retains his rank and position.
1708
He negotiates a peace between Chickasaw and Choctaw tribes.
1716
Chateaugue brings Louisiana's first rice seed from Saint-Domingue . He is the commandant at Mobile.
1717

He is appointed commander of the Louisiana troops.
1718
April 13
Named second lieutenant du roy, a position which gives him a seat on the Superior Council.
1718
April 25
Commissioned director general of the colony in case of Bienville's abcence.
1719
August 9
During a war between France and Spain he takes Bay St. Joseph where he built a fort that is abandoned two months later. Subsequently he surrenders Pensacola to a superior Spanish force and is imprisoned in Havana until July of 1720.

Awarded the Cross of the Military Order of St. Louis.
1724
April 1
Commandant ad interim in Bienville's absence.
1726
August 9
Named lieutenant du roy.
1727
January 1
Recalled by the Company of the Indies. After leaving Louisiana he is appointed as lieutenant du roy at Fort Saint Pierre in Martinique.
1737
July 1
Named Governor of Cayenne.
1745
January 1
Named Governor of Isle Royale.
1747
March 21
Dies at Rochefort, France.
