Beaubassin

End of Acadian odyssey from Beaubassin, Nova Scotia, via St. James and Atchafalaya swamps, to the Attakapas prairies. Here Louis Pierre Arceneaux, prototype of Longfellow’s Gabriel, established his ranch in 1765.
