Tullos is a quiet community of religious people named after John Tullos, who was born nearby in 1810. When oil was first discovered here in 1925 it brought fortunes and a rougher element whose behavior shocked the gentle town folk. The town, which was incorporated in 1925 returned to its sleepy ways once the excitement over oil subsided.
